The October 12, 2026 regular meeting of the Coeur d’Alene Public Schools Board of Trustees included student reports, district assessment results, and a strategic plan update. Students described school activities and the Student Advisory Group’s upcoming work on attendance, engagement, and flexible learning. The assessment presentation reviewed fall reading and math benchmarks and how staff use results to guide instruction and interventions. The district reported that all 16 schools are certified at High Reliability Schools Level 1, 13 are at Level 2, and 10 are pursuing Level 3. Community input will inform development of the next strategic plan, with a draft anticipated in spring 2027. A student presentation also mentioned that Jordan Court is being renovated, without discussion of project costs or procurement decisions.

The board approved the meeting agenda, advanced Policy 4130 for public comment, and approved several revised policies on second reading; the revisions were described as required by new state law. The meeting also noted that 650 plush reading-puppy packages had been delivered to first-grade classrooms through the Excel Foundation and Parker Automotive, with no purchase or contract award discussed. No procurement activity, spending allocation, vendor selection, or bid approval was identified.
