The board approved a $2,808,357 change order and GMP amendment for the State Road 32/Centennial Road roundabout serving the new Westfield Middle School West, increasing the project GMP from $140,167,652 to $142,976,009. It also approved legal advertising for food-service procurement covering Coke, Pepsi, LGC, and Domino’s, as applicable to purchases exceeding the $50,000 threshold. The board adopted the 2027 budget resolutions, including a total budget of $216,029,399, an operating referendum revenue spending plan of $28 million, and bus replacement and capital project plans. The 2027 referendum tax rate in the budget is 0.3381, subject to the November 3, 2026, referendum vote and annual review of district needs.
The board also approved a five-year school resource officer MOU with the City of Westfield and Police Department, contingent on passage of the operating referendum and subject to annual financial review. Under the agreement, the schools would fund 80% and the city 20% of the program, with expansion intended to provide an SRO in every school. Construction updates covered the new middle school, renovations at Cool Creek, Westfield Middle School and Westfield High School, the transportation center, and Shamrock Springs Elementary; Shamrock Springs was reported at the close of construction with a $76 million construction cost. The board approved the consent agenda, including payroll and accounts-payable vouchers, personnel items, and a Cool Creek landscape-rock donation from its PTO, with Stone Center also acknowledged. No vendor award was made for the food-service procurement at this meeting; the action approved advertising the procurement.
