The Milford Board of Education’s regular business meeting was held October 12, 2026. The board approved the 2027–28 budget priorities and assumptions unanimously, including development of technology guidelines that balance learning and student well-being and strengthening specialized in-district programming. It also unanimously accepted a Connecticut State Department of Education grant of $37,500 to help offset student transportation costs. The board approved educational specifications for six capital projects—roof replacements at West Shore Middle School, Orange Avenue Elementary, and Orchard Hills Elementary, plus boiler replacements at Meadowside and East Shore and an East Shore air-handling-unit replacement—to support applications for state reimbursement. No construction vendors or contract awards were identified.
The facilities report covered the Jonathan Law Tech Ed and TLC upgrades: additional asbestos abatement and materials-testing proposals had been approved by the committee, and the board had approved a $4,000 contract amendment for engineering inspection and structural analysis following potential concrete-wall cracking. A report was expected in early November, with bidding for the next phase anticipated in January 2027. The meeting also included discussion of elementary technology use and vacancies in special-education programs; no related procurement decisions were made.
