The Mountain Community Capital Fund Operating Committee held a preparatory discussion on October 15, 2026, with City of Asheville and Buncombe County representatives. The committee took no action; staff is preparing strategic-vision and CDFI-engagement items for consideration at the November 6 meeting. Members discussed whether to conduct structured follow-up meetings with CDFI partners, including Mountain BizWorks, Carolina Small Business, and IAP, to review the draft vision and related operating documents and incorporate partner feedback. Participants also suggested explaining the fund’s history, impact, and potential limits on its remaining capacity, while noting an intent to seek additional funding.

Discussion covered lender feedback on proposed loan-request and borrower-release forms. Feedback on standardizing the loan-request form was described as broadly positive; views on the release form were mixed, with two of three lenders supportive. A tiered release allowing borrowers to choose what information may be shared was also discussed, alongside concerns about adequate technical assistance and informed lending decisions. No contract awards, procurements, spending approvals, motions, or votes were identified.
