The City of Geneva, Illinois Planning and Zoning Commission’s October 8, 2026 meeting considered a fence variation and a commercial site plan; no public procurement, contract award, or purchasing activity was identified. The commission unanimously recommended approval of Vince Bailey’s request to replace a six-foot privacy fence at 601 Spring Street, with the matter scheduled for City Council consideration on November 2. It also unanimously recommended approval of the site plan for a multi-tenant commercial building at 902 Commons Drive, proposed for Cava and Shake Shack with a drive-through, subject to final engineering approval and a $5,810.18 fee-in-lieu payment to the City’s tree fund. The site plan is also scheduled for City Council consideration on November 2.
A member of the public alleged that driveway construction and related permitting and drainage issues at a nearby property had caused flooding and serious harm to a dance business, and asked the commission to review the matter. The planner reported that previously approved text amendments for event spaces are now in effect. The commission also noted a future concept review for a proposed residential project. No procurement-related motions or spending decisions were discussed.
