The Marshfield Conservation Commission met on October 7, 2026, to review wetlands and conservation matters. It voted to accept a revised vegetation-management plan for about 490 feet of airport property along Plymouth Avenue: saplings that could penetrate the runway approach area would be selectively removed by hand, with no machinery used in the strip. The plan will proceed to the Zoning Board of Appeals, with a hearing noted for November 10. The airport’s formal vegetation-management plan update is due in about two years; commissioners were told that updates occur every five years and are expensive, but no specific amount or procurement was discussed.
The commission continued the 31 Constellation Road ADU hearing pending clarification of parcel ownership and zoning, and continued the 36 Old Ocean Street project to November 18. It approved conditions for the Cranberry Cove pool proposal and addressed other wetlands matters, including an after-the-fact deck application and a dock proposal that was denied after the required variance was not approved. Commissioners also approved removal of a hazardous birch tree, with staff to contact the town’s contracted tree climber, and voted to direct a $250 payment to the salt-marsh restoration fund for mitigation at Careswell Street. No RFPs, contract awards, or other procurement decisions were identified.
