The Lacey Township meeting on October 8, 2026, focused largely on police department recognition, appointments and promotions, followed by discussion of a proposed YMCA project and other local matters. The committee approved a new police officer appointment (Resolution 2026-295), recognized additional officers appointed and promoted during the meeting, and the police chief described awards for lifesaving actions and a major-threat arrest. No police equipment or service contracts were presented for award. The committee approved a special-use permit for Popcorn Park Zoo’s October 17–18 Halloween event; food trucks are to obtain temporary licenses individually.

The main spending discussion concerned a proposed YMCA facility that would be financed with $45 million in township general-obligation bonds and put to voters by referendum. Officials said the interest rate and final financing terms were not yet known; the discussion cited an estimated $2.25 million 5% contribution from the general fund and approximately $164,000 already spent on conceptual drawings and traffic-related work. The proposal also contemplates seeking grants, discretionary funds and private contributions; the township would own the building and handle exterior maintenance, while the YMCA would handle the interior. The committee took no final project action, and residents raised concerns about costs and taxes. A proposed open-space trust-fund ballot resolution was tabled until October 22. The committee also approved a first-reading ordinance prohibiting intentional balloon releases with fines up to $500, and discussed an estimated $350,000–$400,000 refurbishment of the local skating rink as a possible future recreation budget request. No new procurement contract awards were identified.
