The City of Post Falls Planning and Zoning Commission meeting was held October 13, 2026. The commission took up four land-use hearings. It unanimously recommended approval to City Council of a 4.9-acre annexation with R1 zoning, and a five-acre rezoning from industrial to Community Commercial Services (CCS). It also unanimously approved an amendment to the Montrose PUD and a related 76.5-acre subdivision of 346 lots, with subdivision conditions including clarification that the property remain in the existing homeowners association. The commission unanimously approved a special use permit for an eight-unit multifamily project on about half an acre, adding a condition addressing adequate on-site parking. These were land-use decisions; no contract awards, bids, vendor selections, or other procurement activity were identified.
In a staff report on fiscal year 2025 development impact fees, the commission was told the city collected more than $4.5 million and expended more than $1.7 million. Reported expenditures included a traffic study, railroad-crossing improvements, the Spokane and Prairie roadway project, a Prairie Trail extension, and parks project design. The report also noted that impact-fee funds generally must be spent within eight years of collection, with a possible extension to 11 years through City Council action. No spending or procurement motion was taken at this meeting.
