The Wilton Board of Education meeting on October 8, 2026, included unanimous approval of the consent agenda, which ratified collective bargaining agreements with the Wilton custodians and the Wilton Administrators and Supervisors Association. Chartwells, the district’s food-service contractor, presented its school meal programs and discussed kitchen equipment upgrades. The board was told that equipment refreshes are included in the existing contract: a combi oven had been installed, and a turbo oven was proposed to speed service at Middlebrook. Members also discussed possible local-produce sourcing, including from Amble Farm, but made no purchasing decision on that proposal.

For facilities, the board discussed moving the Cider Mill project forward. A committee is being formed through the Board of Selectmen, with community applicants to be submitted for consideration; the town is expected to handle project bonding outside the school budget. An RFP for an owner’s agent is planned after the committee is established, and new bonding proposals are anticipated in the spring. No RFP award or project contract approval occurred at this meeting.
