The Jefferson County Commission meeting on September 3, 2026, approved several spending and procurement-related items. The Commission had previously approved applying future ARPA interest and any unspent balances after closeout toward acquiring 393 North Orange Street. It also unanimously authorized a September 28 joint workshop with municipalities and the public on potential data-center guardrails; a related proposal to restrict county procurement of certain surveillance technology remained under consideration for a future meeting, with no policy adopted. After executive session, commissioners approved moving forward with pricing for county-owned properties, with one commissioner recused; no amount was stated.
