Preston County Board of Education meeting, September 28, 2026. Procurement and facilities updates included a bid solicitation for the Aurora School retaining wall, with bids due in early October and a recommended vendor expected on the October 12 agenda. The district also advertised snow-plowing and salting services and held a pre-bid meeting attended by three or four vendors; no award was made. At Aurora, fire-detection work by ASAP was underway, and Mountain Top Glass was scheduled to replace the school storefront in November. The district is pursuing a roof project at Preston High School estimated at approximately $1.2 million, requesting $940,892 from the School Building Authority and planning to contribute about $265,000 in local funds. These projects were discussed as updates, not approved awards.

The board approved agreements with the West Virginia Extension Family Nutrition Program and West Virginia Birth to Three, with no contract amounts stated, and approved a revision to the county-travel reimbursement policy that clarifies eligible mileage and requires reimbursement forms within 30 days. Budget journal entries 111–119 and updates to the 2026–27 supplemental salary scale were also approved. Members discussed options for improving digital MTSS intervention-record management, estimated at roughly $5–$20 per student, but took no purchasing action. No vendor selection or major contract award was identified.
