The Knoxville–Knox County Planning Commission met on October 8, 2026, to consider zoning, subdivision, and development applications. No procurement activity, contract awards, vendor selections, or spending decisions were identified. The commission postponed three items for 30 days, tabled two items, and approved the consent agenda with item 21 removed for separate consideration. For two Fort Sumter Road properties, commissioners denied requested rural-conservation plan amendments but approved planned residential zoning at up to two dwelling units per acre rather than the requested three. They approved a separate planned-residential rezoning at up to one dwelling unit per acre and approved another residential rezoning at up to four units per acre, subject to conditions.
The commission approved The Fields subdivision plans for up to 27 detached residential lots, including a reduced peripheral setback, and approved a conditioned outdoor self-storage development plan. It also approved two subdivision variances and related final plats. By a 10–3 vote, commissioners denied a request to increase the hillside disturbance allowance from 6.45 to 7.7 acres. They also denied an RN-2 rezoning request because of environmental concerns, including a potential sinkhole. These actions concern land use and private development approvals rather than public purchasing or procurement.
