The regular NHTV18 Board of Education meeting was held October 8, 2026. The board ratified the North Haven Administrator Association contract for July 1, 2027, through June 30, 2030. The district also reported that its energy-savings performance RFP process is underway with qualified providers, including Johnson Controls, Ameresco, and NORESCO, reviewing potential building-envelope, energy-efficiency, and solar measures. No provider has been selected: the next anticipated step is choosing one to conduct a comprehensive energy audit, followed by project approval and possible contract execution. The finance report said approximately 30% of the annual budget was committed three months into the fiscal year, with no major spending surprises; federal grants are expected to be about $140,000 lower than in FY 2025–26, a decrease already anticipated in the current budget planning.
The board approved student trips, including a 2028 enrichment trip to Greece and several 2027 athletic, class, and club trips. The district clarified that trip costs are not coming from the district budget, which no longer includes a field-trip line item; fundraising, a grant, and Perkins funding will support some trips. The board accepted a $500 STEM donation from Global Partners LP in partnership with ExxonMobil and 14 technology charging stations donated by Clinton Public Schools. The chief operating officer also reported that the district is pursuing an energy-savings performance contract process jointly with the town. No vendor award or energy-project contract was made at this meeting.
