The Hyannis Main Street Waterfront Historic District Commission met on October 7, 2026, with four voting members present. The commission approved three applications, each by four affirmative votes: rooftop solar panels at the Hyannis Plaza Hotel, 662 Main Street (495 panels covering about 14,800 square feet); rehabilitation and new lettering for the existing sign at 252 Main Street; and signage, a menu board, and a drive-through awning for Mary Lou’s Coffee at 149 North Street. The coffee-shop approval included lighting from above with gooseneck fixtures. The commission also voted to continue a minor modification to a previously approved monument sign until the next meeting. Meeting minutes were not acted on because there were not enough members present who had attended the prior meeting.
The meeting concerned historic-district design approvals for private properties. No government procurement, contract awards, budget allocations, or purchasing decisions were identified.
