The Arlington Conservation Commission met remotely on October 1, 2026. The main procurement-related item was planning an RFP for Arlington’s water bodies; the Water Bodies Working Group was scheduled to meet the following week, and the administrator said she had agreed to draft the RFP. A request for funds for the Spy Pond bank restoration, including fencing and planting, was postponed until the commission could review the budget request and supporting information. No amount was stated, and no funding or contract award was approved. The commission also discussed a possible memorandum of understanding with the Park and Recreation Commission to clarify review of future environmental projects in water bodies.
The commission voted to retain the enforcement order for 103 Thorndike Street while lifting the stop-work restriction to allow work under the existing permit. The applicant must notify the commission 48 hours before backfilling and pump the pit if accumulated water reaches an average depth of two inches. The commission also approved the September 17 minutes and voted to continue the 53A Park Avenue hearing to October 15; the Zero Reed Street application was reported as withdrawn. No other procurement awards or spending decisions were identified.
