Planning Commission Meeting 10-8-26

The October 8, 2026, City of Hot Springs Planning Commission meeting approved the prior meeting’s minutes and amended the agenda to defer two items, PS26146 and PB26144, to November 12 at the applicants’ requests. Commissioners unanimously recommended approval of a zoning and future land-use map change involving 625 and 638 Third Street, allowing a zoning swap to support a new home at 625 Third Street and relocation of the locksmith business to 638 Third Street. The recommendation will go to the Board of Directors for consideration, identified during the meeting as October 20.

The commission also unanimously recommended rezoning approximately 3.8 acres at 979 Shady Grove Road from Rural Residential to Neighborhood Commercial, correcting a longstanding zoning designation that staff said did not reflect the property’s commercial use. The director reported no other updates, and commissioners discussed whether other properties annexed under similar circumstances may have outdated zoning. No contracts, purchasing decisions, budget allocations, or other procurement activity were identified.
