At the October 8, 2026, Portage County, Ohio Board of Commissioners meeting, the board approved an additional $40,000 contribution to Ohio State University Extension of Portage County, bringing the county’s 2026 contribution to $100,000, and accepted a $25,000 Supreme Court of Ohio technology grant for the Common Pleas Court Juvenile Division. Internal Services presented potential upcoming facility costs—not final awards—including $31,985 for stairwell door hardware, $4,800 for sidewalk replacement, $29,000 for paving, and $3,878 for an automatic door operator; the board supported including replacement security cameras in next year’s budget. The board also approved two employee health-benefit contribution holidays. No vendor award was made for the other listed potential facility work during this meeting.
