The October 8, 2026 meeting of the Natrona County Parks & Recreation System Board of Trustees included approval of the consent agenda, which authorized creation of a restricted lake administration account under the management agreement with the Bureau of Reclamation. The account would retain a portion of lake-generated revenue—discussed as up to 20%, with roughly $200,000 annually as a possible estimate—for eligible park administration and projects, including potential grant matching. The board would decide how the funds are spent within the agreement’s limits. The board also discussed revisions to its proposed 1-cent funding requests for submission to the County Commission: reducing the backhoe replacement estimate from $250,000 to approximately $170,000, advancing the proposed replacement timing, and removing certain maintenance items and outhouse replacements. These revisions were to be submitted to the commission; no funding award was made at this meeting.

Capital and grant-funded work updates included materials on order for the Bear Trap shelter project, with a contractor lined up to build once materials arrive; archery targets being installed or awaited under a grant-funded project; and completion of a new storm-drain inlet at the Trail Center parking lot. The board discussed drone-flight application requirements, including insurance and flight-plan coordination, but took no action to amend the rules. The agenda was modified to add discussion of the 1-cent revisions and drone applications and remove the grooming-agreement discussion. No decisions were made in executive session.
