At its October 8, 2026 meeting, the Corvallis School District Board discussed funding for the Osborne pool project, for which the district received a $500,000 Travel Oregon grant. The superintendent said the award brings phase one to about 90% of required funding; work is underway, with funds targeted to be encumbered by April and the pool reopening planned for September. The board also heard that the district received a $50,000 Pathways to Multilingualism grant for sheltered-instruction training. No RFPs, vendor selections, or contract awards were reported. The board unanimously approved consolidated action items, including Resolution 26-1001, amended to correct its title and number, declaring a district vehicle surplus. In discussion of property-inventory policy, staff said the asset thresholds were aligned with procurement thresholds, but did not anticipate hiring an outside inventory firm or making a related expenditure.
Other discussion included public concerns about accelerated middle-school math pathways, school consolidation and capacity, special education and levy-spending transparency, and opportunities for community engagement. The board reviewed virtual charter enrollment, volunteer guidelines, and transfer procedures, and directed board leadership to consider whether to revisit its practice of asking clarifying questions during public comment. The upcoming local levy vote was noted; no levy allocation or new spending decision was made at this meeting.
