The Mehlville School District Board of Education meeting on October 8, 2026 included an update on the FY2026–28 capital plan. District officials said projected capital funding had recovered from a summer estimate of about $40 million to approximately $46.5 million, with current trends potentially bringing it to about $48 million and a $2.5 million cushion. The next projects expected for board consideration are a transportation facility replacement in November and Melville High School stadium upgrades in December, including restrooms and concessions, storage, ADA parking and sidewalks, fire-lane access, a press box, lighting, turf replacement, and track reconfiguration. Oakville stadium turf replacement and track resurfacing are planned for consideration for summer 2028. The capital-plan presentation was informational; no project approvals or contract awards were requested. A patron urged the district to prioritize a regulation track and protect band practice space.
The board approved an inclement-weather recognition program for eligible hourly operational employees, with the motion carrying 7–0. Eligible staff who complete all requested snow-removal shifts may receive up to one additional paid day, to be taken during the summer window; the proposal stated that existing pay and overtime rules would remain unchanged and that there would be no direct wage changes. The meeting also included student achievement reports and a presentation on assessment results and curriculum implementation. No RFPs, vendor selections, or specific contract awards were identified.
