Valencia County Board of County Commissioners regular business meeting, October 7, 2026. Commissioners approved the September payables and two August payroll packets, along with budget adjustments largely reflecting grant awards and related expenditure allocations. The adjustments also established County Infrastructure Fund 491 for one-time and capital expenditures. The commission certified the county’s capital assets as of June 30, 2026, as finance staff described annual physical inventories and other steps to address prior audit findings. A wildfire protection plan update is underway under a contract with SWCA Environmental Consultants; no new award was voted on for that work.
The commission approved two transportation grant-related resolutions. One concerned a DOT-supported project whose funding amount was unclear in the transcript; a commissioner recommended Moles & Corbin for project work based on its prior designs, but no separate consultant award was clearly recorded. The second approved the FY27 TPF grant agreement for Dos Locos Loop: the DOT share is 95%, or $421,533.73, for asphalt pulverizing, subgrade preparation, and resurfacing. The opioid remediation presentation reported nearly $233,000 in Valencia County support for peer services and prevention programs, and a separate regional award of $9.72 million; these were presented as program updates rather than new commission procurement votes. After a closed session, commissioners also approved direction to staff and delegated authority for the sale of county real property; no sale price was stated.
