The Darien Public Schools Board of Education Policy Committee met on October 8, 2026, to review five proposed policy revisions, described as largely technical updates prompted by state law or legal guidance. The proposals included requiring districts to report evidence of employee misconduct or investigations involving sexual misconduct even when allegations are unsubstantiated; expanding state family-leave eligibility for certain non-certified employees; providing employees notice that district computer systems are monitored and carry no expectation of personal privacy; and updating immunization language to refer to the Connecticut Commissioner of Public Health’s schedule. The committee discussed how to distinguish withdrawn or unsubstantiated claims and raised questions about the scope of computer monitoring. Members were comfortable advancing the revisions to the full Board for consideration at its next meeting. No procurement activity, spending decisions, or contract actions were identified.
