The City of Summit Common Council met on October 6, 2026. Two procurement-related resolutions were approved: Resolution 12763 renewed the automated permitting system used by the zoning, UCC, and engineering departments; the vendor was not identified, and staff said a review of alternatives found it to be the best current platform. Resolution 12730 extended the contract with Summit Industrial Hardware Inc. for two years, under the existing terms, with spending capped at $60,000 per year for as-needed building supplies. Resolution 12748 was removed from the consent agenda because the payment amount was incorrect and is to return when corrected. No other contract award or bid approval was identified.

The council also introduced ordinances for later hearings, including changes to parking restrictions near Wilson School and updates to rules governing city facilities and parks. Discussion covered affordable housing planning and the city’s Summit Housing Authority commitments—approximately $3 million firm and up to another $5 million conditional—as well as dog-park planning and litigation concerning Tatlock Field lights; these discussions did not result in a new procurement action. Reports also noted ongoing sidewalk work and repairs at Mabee Playground, but no related contract or spending approval was presented at this meeting.
