At its October 6, 2026 meeting, the Granbury City Council considered a specific use permit for a convenience store with gasoline pumps at 115 Pirate Drive, a 1.42-acre site zoned light commercial. City staff recommended approval, while the Planning and Zoning Commission had recommended denial by a 3–2 vote. Residents raised concerns about traffic and school-related safety, drainage and flooding, lighting, noise, and impacts on nearby homes. The applicant’s engineer presented drainage and traffic analyses, including a proposed underground detention system, and said the project could be designed without an entrance on North Meadows Drive.
Council did not decide the permit. A motion to approve with conditions—including removing the North Meadows access—was made and withdrawn. The applicant was asked to provide updated site plans and further information on access, traffic, drainage, and screening or fencing. The council then voted 6–0 to postpone the item until November 3, 2026. No procurement or spending activity was identified.
