The Soquel Creek Water District Board meeting on October 6, 2026, included approval of a consent item and two employee-group agreements. The Board approved Resolution 2625 for a successor mid-management agreement, including proposed equity adjustments and changes tied to a staff-and-consultant classification and compensation study; the agreement is scheduled to expire in January 2029. The Board also unanimously approved Resolution 2626 for a four-year successor agreement with the management employee group, expiring in 2030. No dollar amounts were stated. The Board adopted a resolution recognizing the District’s 65th anniversary as well.

The main discussion concerned a draft interagency water-transfer agreement with the City of Santa Cruz, supported by Pure Water Soquel recharge. Staff presented groundwater modeling and early operating data and discussed a proposed transfer limit of 550 acre-feet per year, monitoring, drought and other relief provisions, and replacement or supersession of the 2015 cooperative groundwater management agreement. The draft agreement was not approved at this meeting; staff will return with further discussion, especially on adaptive management and relief provisions. The Board also asked staff to explore whether a District policy on data-center proposals would be useful. No procurement solicitation, vendor selection, or contract award was identified.
