The October 12, 2026 Sanford City Commission meeting approved several procurement and public-works items. The commission approved a $140,520 guaranteed maximum price for the marina restroom ADA-compliance project; a $54,326 budget transfer and procurement with Ovation Construction for guardrail repairs along US 17-92 and West 9th Street (the amount is somewhat garbled in the transcript); an $888,000 budget transfer for a rental generator and transfer switch at the North Wastewater Plant; and landscape services from BrightView Landscape Services, Inc. for $418,390. It also approved a sand-filter replacement change order/purchase order associated with Carr & Collier, with no amount stated, and a $3 million procurement with Middlesex Paving LLC. During discussion of Middlesex, staff described plans to improve advance notice to affected residents and direct construction vehicles to wider roads where possible. The listed procurement motions passed unanimously.

The commission also considered a continued rezoning request for 30.88 acres at 401 Lake Placid Drive, from medium-density residential to planned development. The motion to accept the plan with conditions passed unanimously; conditions discussed included emergency-only secondary access, landscaping and pond design, and traffic-calming measures coordinated with Public Works. Other agenda items included proclamations, a resolution rejecting hate and bigotry, appointments to the firefighters’ pension board, and commissioner reports. No additional procurement actions were identified in those discussions.
