The Lower Paxton Township Board of Supervisors’ business meeting on October 6, 2026, included several procurement- and finance-related actions. The Board approved Brian and Carrie McFeeters as the Township’s sewer enforcement officers for its on-lot septic management program, replacing GHD and Heather Myers. Members discussed that the engagement is a professional-services contract and therefore does not require three bids under the Township’s procurement policy. The Board also approved development guarantees, approved payment of the bills as presented, and approved a joint real-estate tax assessment appeal settlement for Harrisburg Hershey Hospitality LLC, covering assessment years 2021–2026. Eckert was discussed for bond-counsel services; the fee-schedule item was postponed for further discussion. A resolution establishing rules for text messages and other electronic communications by Township officials was approved, with one opposing vote.
The Board heard public comments about Township funding for the East Shore Area Library, including an annual Township contribution reported at about $1.45 million, but took no library-funding action. A speaker announced grant applications for the Possibility Place project: $1 million sought from the Commonwealth’s DCNR and $775,000 through a local municipal grant program; these were applications, not awards. Residents also raised unresolved concerns about erosion and sediment at the Township-owned Conway Fill Site, with written answers requested, and about sewer-pump issues and road maintenance. Cybersecurity safeguards and the use of Township-issued devices were discussed, but no related purchase was identified.
