The City of Vacaville Parks and Recreation Commission met on October 7, 2026. The main capital-project update covered Phase 2 of Play for All Park, supported by a $1.7 million state grant. The project includes two dog parks, a baseball field, a half-mile trail, and expanded parking; the presenter reported the baseball field was about 90% complete, the dog parks 65–70% complete, and the trail 70–75% complete. The city had advanced funds for the parking lot, while local contractors and businesses contributed materials and other support. The presenter said the state was satisfied with progress and the grant was nearing full use; a possible splash pad was raised as a future idea dependent on funding. Public Works also reported parking-lot and driving-aisle maintenance at Peña Adobe, paid from the city’s maintenance operating budget. No procurement awards, bids, or spending motions were identified.

The Commission also received updates on adaptive recreation and teen programming, community events, public art, and upcoming facility activities. The adaptive recreation program described new and expanded classes and accessible event features; staff discussed possible future teen workforce-development workshops. The Commission approved the agenda and prior meeting minutes, with votes taken by roll call because a commissioner participated remotely; these votes were not procurement-related.
