🏗️ Construction & Infrastructure Physical Infrastructure Grants & Funding

At the October 14, 2026, Hardin County Public Works Committee meeting, members received no decision on the referenced HVAC contract bid. The counties had been asked whether they currently held contracts with the two vendors they submitted, and the matter was under legal review. The committee also discussed starting a coordinator job description in case the related arrangement proceeds, given an anticipated January start and the need to notify the current vendor. No contract award or spending-related vote was reported.

Capital and infrastructure funding were also discussed. The White Mills Bridge work was estimated at roughly $89,000–$90,000 total, with 80/20 funding expected to limit the county’s share. The committee discussed applying for 80/20 funding for a box culvert at Allison/Berry Town; the higher estimate was about $156,000, and the project would be refined and competitively bid if awarded. Staff reported that Kentucky Infrastructure Authority agreements for Hardin County 1 and 2 were being reviewed, with the previously approved allocations unchanged; the funding plan includes $2 million for each of the current and next fiscal years. Required legal documents and fiscal court action remain pending, and reimbursement cannot begin until agreements are finalized. Staff also discussed reallocating ARA funds among projects where costs came in lower than expected. No procurement approvals or votes were recorded.
