The City of Annapolis Economic Matters Committee met on October 7, 2026. BAI Labs presented its applied AI work in environmental science and infrastructure, including geospatial screening and monitoring, wastewater digital-twin analysis, landfill methane sensors, and field-data tools. The company said BAI Group is its sole investor and described plans to expand in Annapolis; no city contract, vendor award, or funding commitment was presented. The committee also discussed economic development operations, including the transition of the Main Street program into city government and plans to establish an advisory task force as a bridge to a future independent organization. Staff said funds had been set aside to record and stream task-force meetings, and noted that city procurement rules affect seasonal programming and vendor arrangements. The economic development manager expects to present a separate economic-development brand next month. A holiday tree and decorations were discussed, including responsible disposal, but no purchase or award was approved.
