Research project funded by the National Cancer Institute to study viral and immunological factors of HPV-associated cancers in people living with HIV in sub-Saharan Africa, aiming to improve prevention and treatment strategies.

Description

This project aims to investigate the viral and immune factors associated with HPV-related cancers among people living with HIV (PLWH) in sub-Saharan Africa (SSA). The goal is to inform the development of effective prevention and treatment strategies for HPV-related cancers in this population. The project will focus on the tumor immune landscape, HPV genotype diversity, and treatment outcomes, including estimating the attributable fraction of HPV-caused tumors, characterizing the tumor immune microenvironment, and examining the association between HIV status and cancer treatment outcomes.
