Description

This research examines immune dysfunction due to ALS/FTD-linked mutations in TDP-43 in vivo and in vitro. Using a knock-in mouse model of mutant TDP-43, the study conducts neurological and omics analyses following mild concussive TBI. The research aims to probe innate immune pathways, characterize CNS cell types including microglia subtypes, and employ human induced pluripotent stem cell (iPSC) derived microglia models. The outcomes could uncover mechanisms by which TDP-43 mis-expression alters the innate immune landscape in the CNS.
