Description
This project aims to improve risk prediction for sudden cardiac death (SCD) in children with hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) by analyzing gene testing results and cardiac MRI scans, focusing on scars within the heart tissue. The study will develop a new predictive tool combining genetic, imaging, and clinical data, and validate its effectiveness in a separate cohort. Artificial intelligence will be used to extract additional information from MRI images to enhance prediction accuracy. The goal is to better identify children at high risk for SCD, thereby guiding implantable defibrillator placement decisions and ultimately saving lives.
