Description
A Hybrid Type I effectiveness-implementation trial linking local jail booking and release data with healthcare records at two large healthcare systems in Minnesota and Michigan to identify patients released from jail and randomize them into usual care or a multi-level suicide prevention care pathway. The project aims to reduce suicide risk in the year after jail detention by implementing care coordination, Safety Planning, Caring Contacts, and a telehealth-delivered Coping Long-Term with Active Suicide Program. It will randomize 1,050 individuals and compare outcomes such as suicide attempts and deaths, healthcare utilization, cost-effectiveness, and implementation factors.
