Award to CASE WESTERN RESERVE UNIVERSITY to develop nanoparticle-based OCT contrast agents for tracking retinal ganglion cell transplants, aiming to improve transplant success and glaucoma treatment.

Description

This project aims to develop OCT contrast agents to enable longitudinal, non-invasive tracking of retinal ganglion cells (RGCs) in vivo, using nanoparticle-based contrast agents such as spectral gold nanorods (GNRs). The research will examine the correlation between OCT signals and RGC fate, optimize cell number and injection site, and leverage advanced imaging to improve transplant success, ultimately advancing glaucoma treatment.
