This award funds a study to develop and validate a mobile phone-based ecological momentary assessment tool for depression in persons with aphasia, examining its relation to communicative confidence and physical activity, aiming to improve depression management and quality of life.
Description
The proposed study focuses on developing and validating a daily life measure of depression for persons with aphasia and investigating its association with communicative confidence. Results will contribute to new evidence regarding the validity of a daily-life measure of depression and its relationship with communicative confidence. An accurate identification of depression in persons with aphasia in their natural environment can lead to real-time depression interventions which can ultimately improve their daily life.
