Description
The project aims to address the critical limitation of the persistence time of Eu(II) in oxygenated environments by modulating factors that kinetically hinder oxygen approach in the outer sphere. The research involves studying the solubility of O2 in nanoemulsions with different perfluorocarbons, investigating the influence of gas diffusion laws on Eu(II) persistence, and examining the effect of nanoparticle size in nanoemulsions. The goal is to enable systemic delivery and ratiometric imaging of hypoxic regions in various diseases using Eu(II)-based contrast agents for MRI.
