The Core C: Electrophysiology Core award funds services for electrophysiological studies including slice preparation, patch-clamp recordings, circuit mapping, and calcium imaging to support multiple neuroscience projects.

Description

The Electrophysiology Core (Core C) will provide services for in vitro electrophysiological studies using tools such as optogenetics and in vitro GCaMP6 calcium imaging. It will prepare brain slices, conduct patch-clamp recordings, channelrhodopsin2 (ChR2)-assisted circuit mapping (CRACM), and Ca2+ imaging studies. The Core will also perform histology of the slices and analyze data. Multiple projects will utilize this Core, which is not equipped to conduct in vitro electrophysiology recordings elsewhere.
