NIH-funded research project investigating genetic factors of autism spectrum disorder in Latino populations through genotyping, sequencing, and genetic analysis to improve understanding and risk prediction.

Description

This project aims to investigate the genetic architecture of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) with a focus on Latino populations in the United States. The study will recruit, phenotype, and sample at least 1,600 Latino ASD trios, genotype and sequence all samples, and analyze genetic variation across different ancestries. The goal is to understand how rare and common genetic variants contribute to ASD risk, improve fine-mapping of GWAS loci, develop portable polygenic risk scores, and identify ASD risk genes.
