Research project funded by NICHD to study blood clonal mosaicism in Down Syndrome using genomic and bioinformatics methods, with a $312,000 award.

Description

This project aims to analyze clonal mosaicism of the blood in individuals with Down Syndrome (DS) to understand blood clonality changes and their association with disease phenotypes. The study will leverage whole-genome sequencing data from biobanks and employ novel bioinformatics approaches for mosaicism detection. The research will include analysis of approximately 450 genome datasets initially, followed by expansion to about 1,700 cases across cohorts.
