Research project funded by the National Institute on Aging to study mitochondrial dysfunction in Dementia with Lewy Bodies using brain imaging and spectroscopy to understand bioenergetic dysregulation and its role in disease pathogenesis.

Description

This project aims to characterize mitochondrial respiratory chain dysfunction, dissect bioenergetic pathways contributing to ATP dysregulation, analyze the relationship between mitochondrial dysfunction and cognitive changes, and compare bioenergetic pathway dysfunction between Dementia with Lewy Bodies and Alzheimer’s disease using advanced neuroimaging techniques.
