A trial evaluating self-administration of 3HP tuberculosis preventive therapy with or without digital adherence support to improve health outcomes for people living with HIV.
Description
The proposed trial will provide a comprehensive evaluation of whether 3HP can be successfully self-administered with initial counseling alone, or whether facilitation with a simple digital adherence technology (99DOTS) and text-based medication reminders is needed – while also studying whether these facilitation strategies are feasible to implement across resource-limited HIV/AIDS clinics. The results will inform scale-up of TB preventive therapy, with the ultimate aim of improving the health of PLHIV worldwide.
