This award supports research on cholesterol metabolism dysregulation in Alzheimer's Disease astrocytes to understand neuronal dysfunction and identify treatment targets.

Description

The project investigates how cholesterol synthesis, trafficking, and secretion is altered in Alzheimer's Disease astrocytes and aims to identify potential targets for treatment of Alzheimer's Disease and other age-related neurodegenerative diseases. The research involves multi-omic and metabolomic approaches and includes expanding analyses to in vivo models during the K00 Phase. The long-term goal is to develop targeted therapies for Alzheimer's Disease.
