The award funds a research project investigating neurobiological risk factors in binge drinkers to understand their role in Alcohol Use Disorder development, focusing on neural, neuroendocrine, and immune responses to alcohol cues.
Description
This project aims to elucidate the role of neurobiological risk factors in the development of Alcohol Use Disorder (AUD) among binge drinkers. It focuses on neural, neuroendocrine, and immune responses to alcohol cues, and how these factors relate to craving and drinking behavior in real-world and laboratory settings. The study will examine trajectories of neurobiological vulnerabilities and their association with drinking behaviors over a period of five years.
