Description

The purpose of this agreement is limited to those situations where institutional requirements necessitate direct control of AWS resources through an AWS-owned root account. Root account ownership enables the institution to directly administer account security, manage environments, establish and govern sub-accounts, control access permissions, and maintain direct visibility into usage and billing associated with research, academic, and administrative workloads. While AWS services may be purchased through reseller arrangements, reseller models do not provide the same direct contractual relationship and account ownership structure required by certain institutions. When direct AWS root account ownership is identified as a business, security, or administrative requirement, only AWS can establish and provide that ownership to the customer.
