Research project studying telemedicine use among assisted living residents with ADRD, analyzing multi-level factors and disparities to inform CMS policy.
Description
This research aims to examine the impact of CMS telemedicine policies on assisted living residents with Alzheimer's disease related dementia (ADRD). It will analyze national data from 2018-2024 to assess outpatient service utilization, including telemedicine, and explore factors influencing telemedicine use at multiple levels (AL, market, state). The study hypothesizes that residents in resource-limited ALs, lower-wage markets, or with less regulated states are less likely to benefit from telemedicine policies, leading to higher hospitalization and long-term care placements.
