Description

Pemphigus is an autoimmune blistering skin disease that occurs sporadically across the globe but is triggered by still unknown environmental antigens in endemic areas. Although its etiology is poorly known, it has been demonstrated that the variation of the extended major histocompatibility complex (MHC) is strongly associated with a differential risk of developing pemphigus. Here, we will apply State-of-the-Art multi-omics approaches to discover causal variants, reactive antigens, and disease mechanisms.
