This award funds the development of software tools for structural modeling of cells, integrating biological data to create user-friendly models for hypothesis testing and in-silico experiments.
Description
We are creating user-friendly and targeted tools to develop hypothesis-driven models of entire cells that integrate extensive knowledge on cellular composition and biomolecular structure. Collaborating with experimental and computational biologists, we focus on interpreting tomographic data and modeling bacterial and mitochondrial genomes. Our efforts include developing the CellPACK Suite, a prototype pipeline for structural modeling, which allows data gathering from proteomics and structural databases, and creating models for hypothesis generation and in-silico testing. The project aims to enhance mesoscale modeling methods, interpret and validate tomographic data, and develop accessible tools for the biological community.
