Research project funded by the National Cancer Institute to study immunoediting in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma, focusing on neoantigen profiles, immune escape mechanisms, and personalized neoantigen vaccines in immunosuppressed and immunocompetent individuals.

Description

High incidence and poor treatment options for cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma in immunosuppressed solid organ transplant recipients have led to an important unmet clinical need. The proposed research will compare the mutated peptides in cutaneous squamous cell carcinoma from immunosuppressed and immunocompetent individuals to test an innovative approach to cancer immunotherapy.
