Description
The goal of this research is to create a quantitative mass spectrometry platform for effective analysis of isomeric species of lipids and saccharides, which are important in metabolism, protein structure, and cell-to-cell signaling. The approach uses accelerated droplet chemistry to enhance analyte signals and differentiate isomers in tandem MS, achieving femtomole sensitivity with <1 µL samples. The project aims to develop LC-MS platforms with droplet-based reactions for high-throughput analysis and differentiation of lipid and saccharide isomers, with applications in disease diagnosis and biomedical research.
